For many women, a wedding dress will be the most elaborate and expensive thing they will ever wear - the crowning glory of a day that will pass in a blur of adrenaline and joy. And then WHAT? I have dutifully carted my $4,300 Duchesse Silk Alvina Valenta Haute Couture gown through 4 moves and almost 2 years of marriage. I am not alone; closets accross America are hiding fancy gowns of silk, tulle and French lace amassed in the 30 years or so since the wedding industry became a juggernaut. As online venues like www.chicgiraffe.com for selling dresses prolifirate, wedding planners and other specialists say that they're seeing more brides selling their dresses. Boosting this business these days are the brides on a budget. Emotionally, it can be hard to downsize a wedding-dress dream. Some women justify the purchase of an expensive gown by planning to resell it. However, once posted on such mass market places like E-bay or Amazon, the highest average bid they get is $200. Not such a great return on investment after all. So why not to explore other options?
List with ChicGiraffe.com!!! The benefits of listing with us are limitless and unlike the other virtual and print classifieds, your lisiting does not expire for 9 months, or until your dress sells. Your gown is not limited to one store or location for potential buyers to view it. The cost of listing is only $30 but it will allow your gown to be viewed by millions of buyers searching for the dress just like yours. Contact us for posting or questions at

JUNE 2009 GUILT FREE SHOPPING IS BACK!!! "Just as the recession deepens, luxury sales are moving into the discount arena, especially online. Jimmy Choo shoes, Marc Jacobs dresses, and Botega Venetta bags are no longer in the budget... unless you shop at the OutNet.com. Since 2007, no fewer than five high-end e-tailers, including gilt groupe and ideeli, have opened shop as members-only discount sites that offer VIP-style sample sales at outlet prices. But the fashion site making the most waves these days is a new online outlet cleverly named the http://www.outnet.com/. Opened to the public on April 16, theOutnet — the latest hot spot created by http://www.net-a-porter.com/ founder Natalie Massenet — had 150,000 visitors register prior to the official launch. "With our fashion-forward approach, edited selection and chic format, we will continue to provide savvy shoppers with something new at a great price," says Stephanie Phair, director of theOutnet.com. But the site offers much more than major discounts— typically 30% to 70% off — on designer apparel, shoes, handbags, jewelry, sunglasses and other accessories from seasons past. For example,a $1,455 Rick Owens draped silk dress is marked down 40% on the site to $875, while a pair of Chloé patent leather sandals is 50% off, at $298. And there are similar bargains on offer from more than 200 brands ranging from 3.1 Phillip Lim to Burberry and Alexander McQueen. What’s really got fashionistas riled up, however, are the even bigger discounts that can be found on the site’s flash sales, which registered customers are alerted to via e-mail. Its Going, Going, Gone sales — which are essentially the shoppers' version of playing chicken — begin by offering a product at its original retail price and then keep dropping the price as time runs out until either all the stock has been sold or the sale ends. TheOutnet has another innovative feature to keep customers scouring its online racks: so-called Pop-Up sales, which feature items grouped by brand or theme on sale for a limited time of up to 72 hours. But perhaps the best traffic driver of all? Giveaways. Each month new items are up for grabs for those who register for a flash sale, with lucky winners being chosen at random. The next item being given away: a Chloé Saskia tote bag, originally priced at $1,900. Not bad for a freebie.

CLOTHES "Rotate Clothes Seasonally" To keep clothes seeming fresh and new for years, rotate your clothes on a strong seasonal basis. Each spring, box up all of your winter clothes and put them into storage, then unbox your spring and summer clothes. Then, after the season is over, box up your spring and summer clothes and unbox your fall and winter ones. They will feel fresh and new and make it appear to the people around you that you have a fresh new wardrobe. ______________________ Coupon sites www.coupons.com www.couponcabin.com www.retailmenot.com www.smartsource.com www.fatwallet.com www.currentcodes.com www.coolsavings.com ______________________
